Sports Officer’s Message
At Government SMS PG College. Shivpuri we offer a variety of Games and Sports activities for
Students. The ultimate goal of the department is to motivate, encourage and increase the
student’s participation in different Sports activities. Through Sports, one can develop various
qualities such as sportsmanship spirit, team work, discipline, hard work, sacrifice, coordination,
cooperation, dedication, respectful, toughness, leadership and all other qualities to develop their
overall personality. Sports prepare an individual alone or as a team for the Journey of Life that
lies ahead of them.
About Department
The Department of Physical Education & Sports is one of the core and important departments of
our college. The core mission of the department is to provide a broad spectrum of the Games &
Sports, Recreation, and Wellness activities to students, faculties and staff. As per the NEP 2020,
Physical Education is also offered as Open Elective Subject for Graduation Courses from
academic session 2021-22. Physical Education is an inter-disciplinary subject involving study of
Education, Human Physiology, Anatomy, Sciences and Social Sciences. Physical
education.provides cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor skills,
knowledge, behaviors and total personality of an individual.
